"A home should be a sanctuary –
one that provides joy, peace & happiness.
It should embody your own
unique style that is both practical
& luxurious while being reflective of
the lives of the people living there."
Founder and Principle Designer
Linda Hamilton has been in the design industry for 15 years and specialises in an organic approach to Interior Design to create spaces that delight and nurture the senses.
Born in Ireland, Linda grew up travelling Europe and her years abroad have heavily influenced her design style, yet she has defined and adapted those premises to suit our Australian lifestyle.
After earning a degree in Art History from Trinity College Dublin, Linda moved to Australia in 1992 and thus Urban Edge was born.
Linda has a sharp eye for colour and tone, even as a child she would join her mother when shopping for items for the home, as she knew that Linda would easily be able to match any colour perfectly from memory.
This modest start was the key to her interest in interiors and homewares and this incredible ability to pair the most unique design elements with a practical lifestyle, has in turn created living spaces like no other.
Often found ahead of the design trend, Linda’s ever evolving style is always underpinned by a subtle contemporary classicism with the use clean lines and neutral tones, while blending textures and charm to create a timeless style in either residential or commercial spaces.
Senior Designer and Boutique Manager
Ashley Caruana was a natural compliment to Linda’s big-picture vision.
With nine years of experience in the industry, it was a chance meeting with Linda that secured Ashley a position at Urban Edge.
Starting as a retail assistant, she was quickly recognised for her visual merchandising style and unique aesthetic.
During the past 5 years Linda and Ashley have built a close working relationship, combining their knowledge and strengths as an asset to their clientele.
Ashley’s love for decoration started as a child who would rearrange the family home, it had always been her intention to study interior design.
After finishing school she spent 2 years working in high end wedding photography before relocating from a small beach town in NSW to the Gold Coast where she went on to earn a diploma in Commercial Arts and Interior Design.
With a fondness for merchandising, Ashley has an extraordinary ability to put together accessories and her passion for textiles as well as a flair for creating unique artificial floral arrangements can help you to enhance your living space.
