Our client for this project had a natural gravitation to a rustic tribal style, however wanted this property to feel a little bit more coastal as it would become their beach holiday apartment whilst visiting from New Zealand.
As the apartment had beautiful dark/ black timber flooring we still needed to utilise black furniture pieces to balance this. In order to soften this look and create a more coastal feel we used raw timbers, soft linens and texture where possible. Our client thoroughly enjoys entertaining so the floor plan includes multiple areas which can be utilised for a larger numbers of guests, as well as more intimate spaces for a quiet drink for two.
In the bedrooms we wanted each room to have a sense of their own personality which we achieved by using bolder colours and artworks. The master is layered with different neutral fabrics and textures to give it depth whilst creating a truly calming space whilst on holiday.
